Experience Top Chef at Sea, exclusively on Celebrity Cruises

Experience Top Chef at Sea, exclusively on Celebrity Cruises®

Prepare for a vacation that will thrill your inner chef’testant.

We’re excited to announce our partnership with Bravo and their Emmy Award winning television show—Top Chef. It’s a match made in… well, the kitchen—and the results of pairing our culinary expertise with their culinary savoir faire are simply mouthwatering. Our new program is called Top Chef At Sea, and beginning in July of this year, you can step aboard any of our ships* and discover new ways to thrill your palate, master culinary skills, and take your vacation to the next tantalizing level.

To create our Top Chef At Sea program, we blended Top Chef-inspired activities and flavors into an already extensive culinary experience. Step aboard and be wowed with Quickfire Challenges that put you in the spotlight where you’ll feel the pressure the chef’testants experience on the show. Plus, indulge in some of the dishes the judges raved about on the show at our Top Chef Night in the main restaurant, where we’ll feature a wide selection dishes, from appetizers to desserts, that were big hits on the show—all for your discerning palate.

And for our dedicated foodies, we’re introducing four Top Chef Signature Sailings, where you’ll be joined by some of the show’s most popular and talented chef’testants. Rub shoulders with the chefs and sample some of their creations at special Meet & Eat gatherings (featuring hors d’oeuvres prepared from the chefs’ recipes) on vacations in Bermuda, Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean. With as many as four chefs per sailing, you’ll have the opportunity to get the low-down on what it was like to be on the show and find out what they have in store next.

On board, your chefs will give demonstrations, lead private cooking classes, join you for special dinners in one of our specialty restaurants, participate with you in Quickfire Challenges, and be featured in the main restaurant during Top Chef Night, where they’ll hobnob with you and your fellow guests as you enjoy dishes that carry their seal of approval.

This year, we’re tempting your taste buds, honing your skills, and putting you to the test on a journey with a culinary focus that will have your inner chef’testant jumping for joy. And, as always, that’s just a taste of all the extraordinary experiences we have in store for you on a modern, upscale vacation that will leave you completely restored and renewed—and hungry for more.

Our CruiseOne Travel Agency Seeing Spike in River Cruise Sales

Viking River Cruises
River cruising continues to rise in popularity across both the United States and abroad, especially among travelers seeking more intimate experiences to more exotic locales. Despite the myth that river cruising is only for the retired set (and it is a myth), river cruising is emerging as a popular vacation for younger travelers who want to immerse themselves in the culture of a region while enjoying the creature comforts of home. This is such an incredible way to discover a region as you can literally just step off your ship right into their world.

With a variety of innovations - from excursions to onboard amenities river cruising is a segment of the travel and tourism industry that can now offer something for everyone.  Here are our three reasons why a river cruise should be a must on every traveler's bucket list:

Nile River
 1. Exotic Destinations. Getting up close and personal with Egypt and the enchantment of Cleopatra on the Nile or taking in the charm of the Mississippi are all possible on todays' river cruises. AmaWaterways has added more interesting locations with cruises in Namibia, Russia, Vietnam and Cambodia. Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is also even offering travelers a unique journey through Italy's Po River, beginning in 2013. These destinations open up access to places unreachable by large ships and create an intimate connection with the cities they visit.  The best part about river cruising is the views - most ships are 100% balcony staterooms, including those aboard Uniworld's Douro Spirit or Avalon's Victoria Jenna.

2. Experiential Cruises. River guests can enjoy trips tailored to their tastes with programs just for them. Food and wine aficionados should consider the `Culinary Delights' itinerary from AmaWaterways. Once aboard, guests can work with a local chef to plan menus for their entire voyage, shop in local markets for ingredients and prepare their own meals!

Guests seeking more adventure can sign-up for bike tours that let you travel alongside the ship from port to port, taking in the scenery as you go. Tech-savvy travelers who need to stay connected will now have access to onboard Wi-Fi and those looking to stay fit will love the fact that most river vessels now have onboard gyms.

3. More Choices. As river cruising demand continues to boom, more ships and destinations are being added for cruisers to experience. Avalon and Viking, for example, are both expecting significant capacity increases in their fleets for the 2013 season. Viking will add six new longships in 2013 and Avalon will introduce two additional ships. Cruisers are also finding more choices while aboard from customized dining experiences on and off the ship, to specialized excursions.

River cruising continues to highlight the destinations it serves by immersing cruisers in the culture. Whether it is because of the out-of-the-box destinations, local flair or intimate venues, more travelers are opting for river cruises to truly escape.

As innovation shapes the industry and more people see the value in river cruising,
finding the right ship - and itinerary - can be tricky.

A professional travel agent can step in and help navigate the options, offering the right choice for your personality, interests and budget.

Celebrity also will offer a variety of cruisetour vacation options, pairing a land-based experience with a cruise to create the ultimate winter getaway.

This trip of a lifetime will take place on Celebrity Solstice, the ship that introduced modern luxury style and design to the cruise industry when she debuted in 2008. Celebrity Solstice also will offer two Pacific Island cruises roundtrip from Sydney in October 2013 and April 2014, featuring stops at ports such as Lautoka and Suva, Fiji; Lifou, Loyalty Islands; and Noumea and Isles of Pines, New Caledonia.

A new offering will be four- and five-night Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida on Celebrity Constellation, which was "Solsticized" in drydock last year to include guest-favorite enhancements such as the Tuscan Grille specialty restaurant, CellarMasters wine bar and Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria, among other venues. A more extensive Asia vacation can be enjoyed by combining a fully escorted land tour with the cruises sailing from or ending in Hong Kong. A five-night pre- or post-cruise out of Hong Kong features two nights in Xian, where guests will visit the famed Terra Cotta Warriors, and three nights in Beijing, where guests will access the Great Wall of China, among many other highlights.

The ever-popular 92-guest mega-yacht Celebrity Xpedition will continue to offer a variety of vacation options in the Galapagos Islands, each including naturalist-led explorations and excursions throughout the region.

Celebrity's 2013-14 Australia and South America cruises will open for booking on April 4, 2012, and the Asia itineraries will open on April 18, 2012. The Galapagos Islands sailings opened for booking in March.

Easy-to-access Caribbean offers uncommon onboard luxury

In addition to Celebrity Constellation's short Caribbean cruises, voyages through the region's vibrant blue waters will be offered on four of Celebrity's five Solstice Class ships and one additional Solsticized Millennium Class ship in the winter of 2013-14. Three of these ships will offer seven-night cruises:
